Almost ready to go

Friends of SEASONS,

The fall season is here and temperatures are dropping so it’s time for Dorothy and I to head south on our grand adventure, The Great Loop Route, a circumnavigation of the eastern United States all by water. We have talked, planned, done our homework, bought a boat, made changes to it, sold our dirt house, spent the summer living aboard and Now Its GO Time. Our planned departure from South Shore Yacht Club in Milwaukee, WI, will be early Saturday morning on the 29th of September 2018.

So just to catch everyone up, on our adventure here are some details. About 4 years ago Dorothy and I started talking about retirement and some things we would like to do. We wanted to do some traveling around The Great Lakes by sailboat. As the conversation progressed we learned of something called the Great Loop Route. So we did our homework and started planning. 2 years ago we purchased a 1987 42’ Grand Banks Trawler and named her “SEASONS”. This past spring we sold our home in Mequon, WI. We started living aboard this summer and getting our trawler ready to go. I know there are a lot of questions in this short paragraph and I will clarify in future posts.

Family and friends are very supportive of our adventure so I have ventured into the world of blogging to keep you in the loop. This is the first installment and my goal is to tell you about the good, the fun, the people, the trials, and sometimes even the ugly along the way.

Stay tuned, I have to get back to boat projects.

Brian and Dorothy
